Blooms and Butterflies Color Challenge #7

My dear amazing friend and teacher, Brandy Cox, has started doing a weekly color challenge! Mom and I were both able to participate this week! The color challenge is simple. Brandy gives us 3 current Stampin’ UP! colors that coordinate (some surprising combinations!) and then you can also use either Very Vanilla or Whisper White ONLY! No other colors. Just use a current stamp set and let your imagination run WILD! Brandy’s Website,, also features other stampers that participated! I was super glad Brandy welcomed me into her family of Blooms and Butterflies!

This week our colors were Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo and Pumpkin Pie. At first I was a little scared when I saw these colors, but then it put me a fall frame of mind. I chose to use 2 new sets from the Stampin’ UP! Holiday Catalog. The sets I used were Truly Grateful and Harvest of Thanks. I made a “gate card” where I cut my 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock in half and then scored it 2 3/4 inches from each end. I used the wood-grain background stamped in Crushed Curry from Truly Grateful as my background on Very Vanilla. I then stamped the “Harvest of Blessings” in Melon Mambo and the cute turkey in Pumpkin Pie. I stamped the turkey twice so I could cut out the turkey and pop him up with my Stampin’ Dimensionals, after I glittered him of course!! I also popped up “Harvest of Blessings”. Last I added a Pumpkin Pie bow I made from gross grain ribbon and adhered it with a glue dot!

I just LOVE the card mom made. (I like her’s better than mine) She used the stamp set “Polka-Dot Pieces” and the punches: Bird Builder, Scallop Circles (various sizes) and the Scallop Border. Her base cardstock was Melon Mambo and she used the Scallop Border Punch on the bottom so she could place the Pumpkin Pie Designer Series Paper behind it, showing off the cute polka-dots in Whisper White. Then Mom placed a rectangle of Crushed Curry onto the top of her card. She stamped using all the stamps from the set in the various colors from the color challenge onto Whisper White cardstock and then she played around with the placement. (She played around for quite some time to get it just right). She gave the card some depth using Stampin’ Dimensionals and blinged out her card with rhinestones in the center of the flowers and on the butterfly. She also glittered up the wing of the little birdy!

I hope you enjoyed our first attempts at the Blooms and Butterflies Color Challenge!!

Alrighty, my Stampin’ Nut friends, I have done it! I have ventured into the world of web videos! My dear friend, Brandy Cox, has been doing videos for quite sometime. So while she was away in Utah at the annual Stampin’ UP! Convention I decided I would try to make a video for Paper Pumpkin by Stampin’ Up! I mean, how hard can it be, right?! HA HA HA I grabbed my iphone , my Paper Pumpkin Welcome Kit and my handy dandy videographer- Mom! Let the adventure begin. I love to talk and can ususaly think on the fly, so I didn’t bother with bullet points or a script, I can just wing it!

Well….Let me say that there is a lot more to it than I thought. However, I did make some FANTASTIC BLOOPERS, not to toot my own horn or anything. I had three short bloopers and then my “final” blooper was pretty good, until the end. It was like my thoughts just stopped! and then so did the video. After letting several people see the video, I decided, to go ahead and post the full video without editing. I think it’s entertainment value is something my Stampin’ Nuts will enjoy. Also, Stampin’ UP! decided to launch a Paper Pumpkin Promotion and I wanted to have something to show you right away!! I hope you enjoy!

If you need information presented in a slightly more understandable method be sure to visit my Paper Pumpkin Page! (Say that 5 times fast!) Now onto the savings! Paper-pumpkin_demo_header_august

This Paper Pumpkin Promotion is good through August 31, 2013! Sign up now for ONLY $10 a month!! Click here and use Promo Code: PUMPKINDEAL

I love bloopers and they make me laugh and I can’t seem to get enough, so you can check out my blooper videos. I hope you enjoy watching! Blooper 1, Blooper 2, and Blooper 3

Conventions all around!

I hope all my Stampin’ Nuts are doing well. This has been an awesome week for me. I celebrated my 1 year anniversary with my boyfriend and we were at a convention together. While I was at my convention, another great convention was taking place!

Yes, Stampin’ Up! hosts a convention every year open to all demonstrators! Unfortunately, I was not able to make it, but am hoping to make it next year! However, my dear friend Brandy Cox attended and made it into Founder’s Circle! Founder’s Circle is a top Stampin’ Up! honor for the top 100 demonstrators. This has been a goal for Brandy for several years. I’m so happy and blessed to know her and couldn’t be more excited for her.
Here’s a pic of her on stage.

Convention revealed a lot of new and exciting products that Stampin’ Up! will be offering soon…more to come!

Peace for your Memories

Hey there all my Stampin’ Nuts!

It’s been a crazy week or so!  But I wanted to show you a card I made. I made this card for a very dear friend of mine whose father passed away. Sympathy cards are always good to have on hand because you’ll never know when need one. I was able to make this one pretty quickly and despite the reason for the card, it was fun to make.

I used the Stampin’ Up! “Lovely As A Tree” Stamp Set and “Blessings From Heaven” Stamp Set, the colors I used were Crumb Cake, Garden Green and Early Espresso.

I used my Stampin’ Write Markers to color the oak tree in Garden Green and Early Espresso and I used my VersaMark Stamp Pad to stamp the leaves around the edges and give a neat watermark effect. I then used my Stampin’ Distress Tool to distress the edges before wrapping it with twine. I just tied the twine in a not and cut off the edges. I matted the twine and tree onto Garden Green and then matted those two layers onto an Early Espresso cardstock base.  I stamped my greeting in Garden Green onto Crumb Cake cardstock and then trimmed my garden green and adhered it to my card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
